![]() ![]() It enhances the world of RE and keeps things connected enough that it doesn't make RE4 feel like a Side Game. That's good chances to the story already. The new Reimagined story has the chance and benefit of attempting to expand upon the original story beats and connect to past games and even future games which appear to be the case already what with Las Plagas being the original inspiration for the Nemesis Parasite in RE3make and now Saddler's Cult potentially being connected to Miranda's Cult in RE8 and the Parasite in RE4 and RE8 potentially being related. Storywise its disappointing and stupid even for typical RE standards. The original RE4 is a masterpiece of a game, gameplay wise. It was written in 2 Weeks and even its original Creator has expressed that he hopes the story is done better than what he did with it. Now that said, RE4make has the chance to do better because the original RE4 story was quite frankly.Shit. With that mind, Both Division 1 and M-Two had no problems cutting enemies, content or changing character personalities or story elements. RE3 on the other not only got rid of the Live Selection Choices AND the alternative path cutscenes and character placements but also enter areas like the Clocktower for example and Barry who instead of getting an expanded role in the ending of the game perhaps, is omitted altogether. RE2 got rid of the inter-crossing story mode and zapping system that was implemented into a PS1 game more than 20 Years ago and that a 20 Year Later Advanced Game couldn't do which is frankly embarrassing. ![]() Keep that in mind but story and gameplay feature wise they dropped the ball hard. Now it goes without saying, I was not happy with RE2 and RE3. What we got with RE2 and RE3 and now RE4 is a alternative tale essentially. A Remake should basically enhance and extended the original game. It was basically the same game, graphically enhanced, same files and story mode and structure and enemies with new story additions like Lisa Trevor and revamped areas like the Shark Tank for example. If you want an idea of what a proper Remake is then look no further than the original REmake released back in 2002. They were just like RE4 that we are getting, REIMAGININGS (How is this not a word lol?). Now first thing to keep in mind is that these so-called Remakes are in fact NOT Remakes. So now we move onto the concept of Remake and Reimagining. I know Im being a bit hard there but RE3make did not feel like a £50 game to me lol and having a studio who has experience working on a short but at least 'fun' campaign takes the work load off from the main team as they work on the main title. The RE2make Team makes the main RE4make Game and the Studio that did the short DLC called RE3make makes the Ada's Separate Short DLC like Campaign. It does state at one point that M-Two is spearheading the development on Ada's Separate Ways which would make sense. Well reports from articles, one such as this though not as detailed I fear. What has M-Two being doing then if they're no longer working on RE4make? Now moving on of cause that leads to another question. Its also mentioned in the article that because of this the release date was likely going to be 2023 now and what do you was indeed right lol. After the negative reception and Capcom wanting the RE4make to basically be similar to RE2make/RE3make with the new additional changes and tone I believe and gameplay features, the core Resident Evil studio Capcom Division 1 took over the project. Now after hearing the negative reception from fans on RE3make, it was decided that they would basically try to do a proper 'faithful' Remake of RE4 vs RE3make where they cut alot of content from it. The jest of it is basically that Developer M-Two who worked on RE3make were doing the RE4make. So back in Early 2021, this article posted by IGN on January 22 talked about the Partial Development Reboot Due to Internal Disagreements. I thought I'd make this post incase others don't know yet or are wondering. ![]()
